Short information of SEBI

What Is SEBI, SEBI stands for Securities and Exchange Board of India called Hindi Securities and Exchange Board of India, a regulatory body that deals with matters related to the development and regulation of the securities market in India? It was established in 1988 on 12 April but it got statutory status in 1992. Ajay Tyagi is the chairman of SEBI.

SEBI is managed by six members-one chairman (nominated by the chairman), two members from the central ministries office, one from the RBI, and the remaining members are nominated by the central government.

The main functions of SEBI are summarized.

To protect the interests of investors and to make rules for regulating the capital markets.
To regulate stock exchanges and other security exchanges.
Stock brokers, sub-brokers, share transfer agents, merchant bankers, underwriters, to control the work of portfolio managers, etc. and also to register.
To guide employees and persons related to providing security exchanges and promote healthy competition in the security market.
Eliminating corruption in security markets.
Mutual fund securities to keep an eye on their activities to register and market.
